Board Game: Cockroaches in the Fridge

Cockroaches in the Fridge is a family card game for 2-4 players. Each player controls a team of 3 cockroaches. Their goal is to carry away as much food as possible from the fridge.

How to Play?

At the start of each round, food cards are placed on the table in 3 rows of 3 cards each. This forms the fridge, which the cockroaches will raid. Each food card shows its value—the number of points it will bring to the player—as well as its weight, indicating how many cockroaches are needed to carry it away.

Players take turns placing their cockroach tokens on any food cards, even on those already occupied. Each player has 3 tokens of their color. Once all cockroaches have been placed, the Threat Phase begins.

A threat card is drawn from the Threat Deck. This card shows the type of threat (insecticide spray, slipper, frost, or dynamite) and the areas of the fridge (cells in the grid) affected by the threat. Each cockroach has immunity to only one type of threat, but none are immune to dynamite.

If a cockroach is on a space affected by a threat it is not immune to, it dies and the token is returned to the player. The surviving cockroaches can now take food. A player can take a food card if they have enough cockroaches on it and they outnumber the cockroaches of other players.

Remaining cockroaches stay in the fridge for the next round, but they become greedy, increasing their strength by 1. New food is added to the fridge, and the next round begins. Each food card has a special ability, written on the back of the card.

How to Win?

The game ends when all the food in the fridge runs out. The player with the highest total points wins.
